iPhone 4 Home button issue - Fix?

Ithas come to my attention (Thanx to @Thisispocket) that many iPhone 4users are reporting a bug where the iPhone Home Button does notalways respond to single-click or double-clicks. It might be softwarerelated as most people seem to have begun noticing this problem afterinstalling iOS 4.1+. It was hoped the bug would be fixed in iOS 4.2.1but no such luck. 4.3 did not offer any improvement. Other causesthat have been considered include a hardware short or dust or lintgetting under the button. Ally also mentions that it may be caused bythe home button not being properly centred. Here are some (potential)fixes

Issues(intermittent)
  • You single or double-click and nothing happens
  • You double-click and it only registers a single click

Fixes

  • 1.) Open any application

2.) Press and hold the power button until the slide to shutdown swipe bar appears.

    3.) Release Power button

4.) Press and hold Home button Lightly until screen returns to icon screen

    Or try this:

  • 1.) Connect the phone to you'r PC/MAC

2.) As soon as you plug it in, Press and hold the home button until the voice control appears.

    3.) Release Home button

4.) Press cancel, reboot the phone.
Ihave tested the 1st method on my iPhone @ MrsXeonWales's iPhone (bothsuffered the same issue) & now I have a fully working Home buttonagain!!

Hopethis helps someone!
